whew... busy year... started out with an overnight stay at the hospital (jan 24) to finally knowing that lei and i are having a boy! whew... latest pic so far...

(parang ang liit ng wheelchair ko no? hehe)... first time ko na ma-confine, hirap pala... hehe.. saka ngayon ko napatunayan na ok din naman pala ang pagkain sa hospital... hehe..

...well sad day yesterday...

my pinsan obet texted me last night that by dog bullet just passed away (my sis sha, also texted the news minutes later)... i really don't know the cause of death, he just told me that bullet's been sick these past days, not eating much like he used to and even vomiting at times... kumpleto naman ata sa bakuna si bullet... tsk tsk...

nakita na lang daw ni obet pagkauwi galing sa skul na di na humihinga... i called agad sa bahay and my dad me that they've already told the vet a couple of times to come even days before and take a look at bullet... di naman pumunta ang ungas... ayan di na naagapan..

o well, siguro nga panahon n nya... i remember 2 years ago ata ung na-diagnose sya na may broncho-pneumonia or something, naagapan naman... i guess makakasama na nya ung isa pa namin alagang kakalipas lang (jucatcat)

...to think na kaka-post ko lang last month nung video ni bullet (also with jucatcat)... siguro premonition (if you guys believe that stuff)

...tagal ko pa namang di pa nakita uli si bullet.. kaya siguro nanghina un... kala nya iniwan ko na sya... if i'm home in bulacan, bullet would follow me wherever i go... if i would go over my cousin's house, bullet would follow me even without telling him... nasasabi tuloy ni Doray na "...o andito ka nanaman bullet kasi andito amo mo..." ..

haay... well at least we still have T-BAG (i'll be posting a pic of him soon)...

people close to us (well anybody who went to the wedding anyways) know that we're big fans of Sitti... haha... kaya i think she deserves some space here in our blog.. haha.. by the wayu, her Christmas album's already out.. so do get a copy.. we aready have one and it's sulit... particularly liked the "Baby it's cold outside" cover and the carrier single "Ngayong Pasko"... galeng galeng!!

...nga pala, after buying the album you might also want to book a seat or two sa concert nya on her birthday on Nov 29 (she turns 24) sa mandarin hotel sa makati... i'm not sure though kung meron pang tickets kaya try nyo na lang..(details below) hehe...

the grand terrace

last week (like what i've mentioned in the last posts) we went to the Grand Terrace to finalize some stuff with Val (our friendly contact from Grand Terrace as well as with Flowers Unlimited (kuya Roland)... in the middle of the conversations i managed to take a few shots...

...the pic on the right i think is where the cocktails (hmmm.. i think) will be placed... in between the ceremony and the reception... were' not actually 100% final yet as to the placement of certain stuff since great ideas pop out all the time but we'll see...

anyways, lei and i met with the make-up artist last friday at gateway... just so happened, there's a gourdo's outlet there so we just had to check it out...

..you guys are in luck... well i am... haha... we were actually window shopping for you guys... to save you all the trouble of thinking what to buy.. ain't that sweet? haha...

moving on... saw this gorgeous peppermill (it's a pepper crusher) staring at me... 'twas about 2 feet long... not too sure bout the wood (make) though... i asked the salesperson it it twas on sale (like some of the other items)... sadly it wasn't ... the price by the way: Php2,200...

come on.. that's only like 15 happy meals... a good restaurant meal for two plus movies... bout 3 shirts... and for that... everytime lei and i would cook... we'll always remember you guys! aint that good? haha..

(back to reality) moving on (again)... well if you've already got a gift for us, i highly recommend you get the item yourselves, it's a good investment, makes you feel a real "master" of your kitchen.. right? most department stores have these cromed-out peppermills bout 7 inches high.. but nothing beats wood right? - well as far as peppermills are concerned... and nothing beats the smell and taste of freshly milled peppercorns :)

Góðan daginn (for the uninitiated, that's hello in iceland.. i learned it just now from flickr hehe)

i think maybe 1 or 2 have already asked me what if it rains on my parade (cliche) this coming oct 20... am i not worried? the asnwer is NO! :)

well rains are actually the least of my worries right now... i'm more concerned about electricity if you asked me.. you know in case of a black-out...

however, i think we covered all these when we chose grand terrace... you see its a new place, it hasn't even celebrated its 1st anniversary yet as far as i'm concerned.. so all their equipment are new... walls, generators, sound system, all of it... so well.. its ok

i've posted a picture of the venue here so you'd get the idea of the "garden"... you see its covered and airconditioned at that.. as for the ceremony hall, of course its also covered.. it's not called a freakin' "hall" if it has no roof... hehe...

the place also has valet service so if you're bringing a car, its ok... no umbrellas necessary... commuters though have to bring theirs...

all you have to worry about right now is your dress/clothes and of course your gift! - DO NOT FORGET! :) hehe

oi!

...nakabili na ko ng barong!! :) last wednesday, we went to Shangri-la/Rustan's to look for a barong... a friend told us that "barongs" there are relatively cheaper... well to make the story short.. we ended up buying one in sm megamall...

nilakad na lang namin.. wala akong makitang barong na gusto ko e.. hehe

anyways, the barong we bought was made from Pina silk... i find the pina-only-barong to be quite dark and "itchy" kaya i opted for the pina silk... i got Michel Andre's ... i would have bought the Onesimus pero la akong makitang design na gusto ko :(

...at the same time i bought na rin my pants and shirt...

sale at the podium

...lei & i also went to the podium last tuesday to check out some kitchen stuff... a friend told us that there's an ongoing sale at "Living Well" at the Podium... :) it's one of my favorite stores there actually - kitchen ware, pillows, even crocs sandals, etc... its like the home section of the SM Dept store... albeit they sell imported stuff.. best of all, they carry "Gourdo's"... it's where i get my Torani's (flavored syrup for coffee, soda or what have you)...

anyways, the podium will be having a mall-wide sale starting today (sept 28) till sunday (30th), so if you're still looking for gift ideas, well this is good timing.. hehe :)

side trip

speaking of torani's, they cost Php300 at Living Well or any Gourdo's store, however, at Landes (also in Podium) they cost - guess?.. Php480!! (same size) - $#%@&!!!! .... may patong na Php200! grabe.. and oh, i aslo saw the francis francis espresso machine - Php50,000 - just get them online.. from the maker, and it'll cost you bout Php42k to Php Php45k with free shipping... don't get me wrong, i like the toys sold there, especially the metal puzzles and chess and all, pero sa price? hmmm...

The Best Gift Idea

Dennis and I have a lot of gift ideas on our mind. But we cannot outright reply when people ask us what we want for a wedding gift because we do not know how people budget their gifts.

Plus, there’s this space consideration. Since we set up place (a studio-type) over a month ago, it’s already crammed with the things we each brought in. And, as Dennis said, combined, we already have most of the essentials: pots, pans, flat iron, electric fans, gas stove, 12" TV, refrigerator, etc. What we lack are good dinnerware and flatware. However, we do not want to be flooded by too much of the same things. And so the best gift idea for us is a Gift Check (preferably SM’s). That way, we get to pool the amount and buy things that we would really need (i.e. items 8, 9 and 10).

But if you really want to give us something to remember you by, that we cannot have too much of, here are our top ten picks:

McCormick spice set. Or herbs in pots—for our herb garden.

Vacuum Pillows (large), hypo-allergenic

Queen-size bed sheets/linens

Good quality pots, pans, and wok

Shoe cabinet (wood-laminated)- there’s this really compact one at Our Home Megamall. Why we cannot have too much of these, our currently overflowing shoe cabinets and drawers will tell you.

If you would give us dinnerware, we would appreciate the lightweight ones. No ceramics please. If you would give us flatware, we want Oneida sets.

Baking oven

Stove/Range hood

24-inch TV (we won’t complain if it’s bigger and/or if it’s flat-screen)

we've already started handing out the invites last sunday... well if you're reading this blog, i guess you'd already seen the invite...

so how was it? ayus ba? did you like it? how bout the map? adworks made the invite... aside from the text, we basically told them what we wanted: the colors and stuff, the chucks (you liked that?) and the "salabay".. hehe... the patterns however were all adworks... as to the map, well i made the design ('twas buencamino's photo by the way) and had it printed in kodak.. :)

by the way, we need you guys to confirm your attendance as we are presently preparing the seating arangements... no last minute confirmations please :)

lei & i, as well as mommy sylvia and daniela were in trinoma last saturday and i saw this cool Krups espresso machine (ok din ata ung braun - germany made ata un e; oo nga pala, i already have a coffee maker so pls don't bother hehe)... i always wanted one... in fact i already started buying "Toranis" (flavored syrups used by cafes), you should try them by the way... and oh a coffee grinder wouldn't hurt either. Gourdo's also sell these cool old school italian espresso machines where you just put 'em on a stove and boil :)

lei also mentioned the other day that she saw this cool shoe rack at "Our Home" in megamall, i think it cost bout 2K... i haven't seen it yet though...

lei & i love to cook - in fact i make a mean tuna & lemon pasta.. hehe.. you should drop by pasig if you want to try it :) ... we already have a rice cooker by the way so don't bother hehe... anything from cooks exchange is appreciated though... especially the pans... we don't have an oven yet so we can't really use baking tools right now.. unless you're giving us an oven also.. haha (reminder: this is a "wish" list - and when i say wish, i mean "big")

the starlet (a few posts back) and minis are still on the list... hehe

"pls consider that the couple will be residing in...". ah.. uhhmm... ah... well in the philippines (joke lang po hehe kala nyo abroad?)

gift certificates would also be nice :)

a nice flat screen tv would be nicer :) hehe

oist... well its friday and i thought i shouldn't let a week pass without at least posting 1 message.... hehe

anyways, last wednesday was our scheduled prenup photo shoot (one of my faves e ung pic above)... we had ours in UP diliman... we were accompanied by Erwin and Wen (of Buencamino Photography - cool guys...), ow and thanks Erwin for letting me ride in your BM.. sweet :)

sobrang nakakapagod pala.. naikot namin ung buong UP... well the walking's fine pero medyo nakaka-conscious yung onlookers.. feeling artista tuloy ako... hehe... pero ayos lang.. we even had a chance to shoot inside a UP jeep... and see some good areas in UP na di mo iisipin na ok kumuha... hehe...

...oo nga pala, nasita pa kami sa may oble.. kelangan daw may permit from UP Admin... hhhh... napaka-ironic e no? sa UP pa where supposedly "freedom" or "democracy" are just some of the most widely used words in campus.. oh well... i guess a lot has changed... pero ayos lang halos patapos naman na kami nun e, hehe and also thanks to the miracles of optical zoom and the persistency of erwin... hehe

TIP to you guys out there... check out ung place na pag-shoot ninyo. if they require permits etc... well lei and i never really thought about UP requiring permits and stuff dahil nga U.P. e no.. hehe

...in short, twas a long day.. capped by a dinner at Chocolate Kiss... sarap... i would have preferred sa chateau for the oysters pero ok na rin ung chix in a basket (well sorry kung di nyo ma-gets if you're not from UP - yabang ng @#$*!)...

lei's putting up sort of a small exhibit sa oct 20 sa terrace, para makita nyo rin.. galeng.. again kudos to erwin and wen...

...i almost forgot.. last tuesday galeng din kami ni lei sa adworks and approved the sample invite.. they'll be coming out this coming tuesday.. ok sya! galeng din :)

the same day, regalong pambahay also delivered the souvenirs for our ninongs/ninangs... ayos din, actually wrapper pa lang regalo na... sad to say only our ninongs/ninangs will only be able to see them :)

..on kobe nga pala din, natuloy si sharon & carl.. around 5 na raw nagstart.. oh well, i really dont wanna dwell much on this topic at medyo ako dapat ung pumunta't nanuod dun..hehe.. like my previous, oh well maybe next time :)

ow... me, lei and my mom went over to fairview sa VS&F last weekend for our food tasting... sarap... complete meal... well all i can say is, wag kayo gano magpakabusog sa cocktails... actually cocktails pa lang mabubusog ka na...

TIP: just taste eveything you can sa cocktails... don't overdo it kasi may appetizer (soup), tapos ung meals - either rice or pasta, tapos may dessert pa.. actually desserts (2) so... dahan-dahan lang hehe

(bring kremil-s just in case hihi)

...we also worked out the details on the table settings - you know the usual, table cloth color, centerpieces, number of chairs per table including its design, etc, etc... ung ceremony venue + the reception venue... haaayy...

well i'm just prepping you guys of what's to come - meaning the actual wish list... lei told me it'll most like be catergorized.. haha.. sort of:

somewhat for Class-A gifts...

your averaga joe gifts

"pangmasa" or parang "ERAP para sa mahirap" gifts

and last and certainly the least.. the "super kuripot" or "taong grasa" gifts.. hehe

...well you get the idea... hmmm... i think it would be best if i had an example.. :) ... sa "if-i-had-a-gracious-millionaire-friend" gift.. siguro isa sa mga nasa list e itong 1981 toyota starlet.. 2 door...

....prolly next to it would be a 1991 or 1992 honda civic hatchback... haha .. you get the idea... :)

last thursday we were just informed that the initial draft of the invite was ready... 'twas emailed to me last thursday (july 19).... well, the invite itself is a surprise but i'll give you a peek (pic on the right...

yesterday (july 29) we also picked up our rings sa sm megamall... ok naman sya.. although may ilang details na di gano nasunod so we're prolly sending it back for some modifications.. this time i can't post a sneak preview of the ring however.. hehe...

...as far as the new place is concerned... hopefully, this week pwede na ko maglipat ng mga gamit ko :) ...just this morning, natapos na ung painting nung isang part ng wall namin.. i'll try to bring a digicam over to get a shot and prolly post it tomorrow hehe :)

we didn't have any nuptials-related appointments yesterday so we just hung out at the studio in pasig with my parents...

we're just fixing the place where lei and i would be living after october... so far patapos na ung 2 cabinets... final coating na lang saka ung painting ng walls :)

..lei's still finishing "Deathly Hallows" ... pero mukha namang matatapos nya by friday.. yipee! :)

well these are things we're actually hoping to buy someday or things we just saw at a mall or magazine or boutique somewhere that caught our eyes or whatever...

...yesterday (july 24) we we went to bulacan for our marriage license... good thing, tita sally (lei's mom) and elaine (lei's friend) were there to help us process the documents...

...saglit lang, ang bilis... pumirma lang kami tapos ok na... we're scheduled to pick up the docs on august 6....

...we also got to see the prototype of the souvenir yesterday... the supplier called up lei and told her we can already see and comment on the prototype.. :)

i designed it by the way (well actually i just modified what was already given hehe)... according to imee (supplier), it'll be ready by aug 6 also (or was it aug 2?)

anyways, ok sya... maganda... for sure our guests will like it... it's one thing to watch out for i'm sure

..nga pala yesterday din, bumili na rin kami ng Harry Potter Deathly Hallows (Book 7)... lei's already reading it.. hopefully this friday tapos na sya para come weekend ako naman...

...at last...

i've been planning to put up this blog for weeks now and was finally able to do so today! woohoo!

me and lei have been busy working out on so many details about the wedding that we'd want to share them with you guys...

however, this blog was basically put up since we wanted to have an online presence where you guys can confirm your attendance...

...speaking of attendance and confirmation, don't worry the invites are coming soon... :)
