...nakabili na ko ng barong!! :) last wednesday, we went to Shangri-la/Rustan's to look for a barong... a friend told us that "barongs" there are relatively cheaper... well to make the story short.. we ended up buying one in sm megamall...

nilakad na lang namin.. wala akong makitang barong na gusto ko e.. hehe

anyways, the barong we bought was made from Pina silk... i find the pina-only-barong to be quite dark and "itchy" kaya i opted for the pina silk... i got Michel Andre's ... i would have bought the Onesimus pero la akong makitang design na gusto ko :(

...at the same time i bought na rin my pants and shirt...

sale at the podium

...lei & i also went to the podium last tuesday to check out some kitchen stuff... a friend told us that there's an ongoing sale at "Living Well" at the Podium... :) it's one of my favorite stores there actually - kitchen ware, pillows, even crocs sandals, etc... its like the home section of the SM Dept store... albeit they sell imported stuff.. best of all, they carry "Gourdo's"... it's where i get my Torani's (flavored syrup for coffee, soda or what have you)...

anyways, the podium will be having a mall-wide sale starting today (sept 28) till sunday (30th), so if you're still looking for gift ideas, well this is good timing.. hehe :)

speaking of torani's, they cost Php300 at Living Well or any Gourdo's store, however, at Landes (also in Podium) they cost - guess?.. Php480!! (same size) - $#%@&!!!! .... may patong na Php200! grabe.. and oh, i aslo saw the francis francis espresso machine - Php50,000 - just get them online.. from the maker, and it'll cost you bout Php42k to Php Php45k with free shipping... don't get me wrong, i like the toys sold there, especially the metal puzzles and chess and all, pero sa price? hmmm...

The Best Gift Idea

Yes. Singular. Not Plural.

Dennis and I have a lot of gift ideas on our mind. But we cannot outright reply when people ask us what we want for a wedding gift because we do not know how people budget their gifts.

Plus, there’s this space consideration. Since we set up place (a studio-type) over a month ago, it’s already crammed with the things we each brought in. And, as Dennis said, combined, we already have most of the essentials: pots, pans, flat iron, electric fans, gas stove, 12" TV, refrigerator, etc. What we lack are good dinnerware and flatware. However, we do not want to be flooded by too much of the same things. And so the best gift idea for us is a Gift Check (preferably SM’s). That way, we get to pool the amount and buy things that we would really need (i.e. items 8, 9 and 10).

But if you really want to give us something to remember you by, that we cannot have too much of, here are our top ten picks:

1. McCormick spice set. Or herbs in pots—for our herb garden.


2. Vacuum Pillows (large), hypo-allergenic


3. Queen-size bed sheets/linens


4. Good quality pots, pans, and wok


5. Shoe cabinet (wood-laminated)- there’s this really compact one at Our Home Megamall. Why we cannot have too much of these, our currently overflowing shoe cabinets and drawers will tell you.


6. If you would give us dinnerware, we would appreciate the lightweight ones. No ceramics please. If you would give us flatware, we want Oneida sets.


7. Cookbooks


8. Baking oven


9. Stove/Range hood


10. 24-inch TV (we won’t complain if it’s bigger and/or if it’s flat-screen)

So there! We hope we’ve helped you decide what best to give us.

we've already started handing out the invites last sunday... well if you're reading this blog, i guess you'd already seen the invite...

so how was it? ayus ba? did you like it? how bout the map? adworks made the invite... aside from the text, we basically told them what we wanted: the colors and stuff, the chucks (you liked that?) and the "salabay".. hehe... the patterns however were all adworks... as to the map, well i made the design ('twas buencamino's photo by the way) and had it printed in kodak.. :)

by the way, we need you guys to confirm your attendance as we are presently preparing the seating arangements... no last minute confirmations please :)

and since the invites are already out, i guess i should also speed up our "wish list".. hehe.. to start of... some things that come to mind...

• lei & i, as well as mommy sylvia and daniela were in trinoma last saturday and i saw this cool Krups espresso machine (ok din ata ung braun - germany made ata un e; oo nga pala, i already have a coffee maker so pls don't bother hehe)... i always wanted one... in fact i already started buying "Toranis" (flavored syrups used by cafes), you should try them by the way... and oh a coffee grinder wouldn't hurt either. Gourdo's also sell these cool old school italian espresso machines where you just put 'em on a stove and boil :)



• lei also mentioned the other day that she saw this cool shoe rack at "Our Home" in megamall, i think it cost bout 2K... i haven't seen it yet though...



• lei & i love to cook - in fact i make a mean tuna & lemon pasta.. hehe.. you should drop by pasig if you want to try it :) ... we already have a rice cooker by the way so don't bother hehe... anything from cooks exchange is appreciated though... especially the pans... we don't have an oven yet so we can't really use baking tools right now.. unless you're giving us an oven also.. haha (reminder: this is a "wish" list - and when i say wish, i mean "big")



• the starlet (a few posts back) and minis are still on the list... hehe



• "pls consider that the couple will be residing in...". ah.. uhhmm... ah... well in the philippines (joke lang po hehe kala nyo abroad?)



• gift certificates would also be nice :)



• a nice flat screen tv would be nicer :) hehe



• nga pala dong/day may tatlong electric fan na kami sa bahay dong/day. aircon dong/day ala pa hehe...



• ok din yung sa kitchen, ung exhaust (HINDI exhaust fan ha)... ung usually placed above your stove... (wait lang a google ko lng ung name).. ok.. ung "range hoods" (ata hehe.. pero ala kaming range hehe)



• we already have 2 blenders hehe



• anything made by corelle or luminarc would be great! :)

oist... well its friday and i thought i shouldn't let a week pass without at least posting 1 message.... hehe

anyways, last wednesday was our scheduled prenup photo shoot (one of my faves e ung pic above)... we had ours in UP diliman... we were accompanied by Erwin and Wen (of Buencamino Photography - cool guys...), ow and thanks Erwin for letting me ride in your BM.. sweet :)

sobrang nakakapagod pala.. naikot namin ung buong UP... well the walking's fine pero medyo nakaka-conscious yung onlookers.. feeling artista tuloy ako... hehe... pero ayos lang.. we even had a chance to shoot inside a UP jeep... and see some good areas in UP na di mo iisipin na ok kumuha... hehe...

...oo nga pala, nasita pa kami sa may oble.. kelangan daw may permit from UP Admin... hhhh... napaka-ironic e no? sa UP pa where supposedly "freedom" or "democracy" are just some of the most widely used words in campus.. oh well... i guess a lot has changed... pero ayos lang halos patapos naman na kami nun e, hehe and also thanks to the miracles of optical zoom and the persistency of erwin... hehe

TIP to you guys out there... check out ung place na pag-shoot ninyo. if they require permits etc... well lei and i never really thought about UP requiring permits and stuff dahil nga U.P. e no.. hehe

...in short, twas a long day.. capped by a dinner at Chocolate Kiss... sarap... i would have preferred sa chateau for the oysters pero ok na rin ung chix in a basket (well sorry kung di nyo ma-gets if you're not from UP - yabang ng @#$*!)...

lei's putting up sort of a small exhibit sa oct 20 sa terrace, para makita nyo rin.. galeng.. again kudos to erwin and wen...

...i almost forgot.. last tuesday galeng din kami ni lei sa adworks and approved the sample invite.. they'll be coming out this coming tuesday.. ok sya! galeng din :)

the same day, regalong pambahay also delivered the souvenirs for our ninongs/ninangs... ayos din, actually wrapper pa lang regalo na... sad to say only our ninongs/ninangs will only be able to see them :)

..on kobe nga pala din, natuloy si sharon & carl.. around 5 na raw nagstart.. oh well, i really dont wanna dwell much on this topic at medyo ako dapat ung pumunta't nanuod dun..hehe.. like my previous, oh well maybe next time :)
